Since I came to Scotland, there has been many different views from my bedroom window. There has been fog, rain, sunsets, sunrises, rain, heavy wind, more rain, but there has never been snow. I've heard many "scary stories" about the crazy wind and snow in the Scottish winter, so when we entered December I of course expected a white Christmas. I actually expected a lot of snow. But except for one school afternoon, where a few white flakes fell from the sky for 15-20 minutes and made our Brazilian exchange student, who hadn't seen snow before, cry, there hasn't been any snow at all.
So when I started hearing about snow everywhere but the UK, I could only look out of my window and see this:

| Sometimes you could see a bit of snow on the mountain tops, which comforted me a little bit, though |
But it was fun as long it lasted, which was only for a few hours, because when I woke up the following morning it was all gone.
I had still expected A LOT more from Scotland though - I knew it wasn't going to be something like a crazy Finnish winter, but I still expected quite a lot of snow! But now I've had my snow, and I can go back to being so thankful for being able to not wear my huge winter jacket and cover myself up in in scarfs and hats and still freezing when I go out the door.
